Regular Expression Interface for PI |
|
Product Version: 1.0
Do you have a proprietary control system that isn’t compatible with any of the standard interfaces for PI? Do you need to process a stream of malformed text or characters and store them to PI? The Regular Expression Interface for PI is capable of parsing real-time streams of data from uncommon control system interfaces that aren’t addressed by another interface offered by OSIsoft. If none of the standard interfaces don’t quite fit your needs, then the Regular Expression Interface for PI just might be the solution.
If you are unfamiliar with Regular Expressions, then let us explain. A regular expression is a special text string that for describing a search pattern for other text strings. It is a well-documented format that applies across many technologies, including Microsoft .NET, Java, Perl, etc. In fact, a simple search of Google will yield thousands of results of how to use Regular Expressions. In our case, Regular Expressions are used to parse an intermittent or continuous stream of control system output using the search expressions included in the interface configuration file. Each configuration file can include an unlimited number of PI tags and related search expressions, providing an unlimited number of possibilities for extracting just the information you require.
See http://www.regular-expressions.info/ for a detailed description of the Regular Expression search language syntax and examples for creating your own search expressions.

PJM LMP Interface for PI |
|
Product Version: 1.0
The PJM eDataFeed web service only handles instantaneous data, so how do you process daily and historical LMP day-ahead and real-time data? The PJM LMP Interface for PI queries the PJM LMP data file list for newly updated files and stores the information to your PI database. One of the great things about this interface is that it parses and stores the public information that is available to anyone – even if you aren’t a PJM market participant.
Through the PJM web site, the day-ahead and real-time LMP data is offered for the latest 90 days as comma-delimited (.csv) files and all the daily files before that as compressed (.zip) files. The PJM LMP Interface for PI opens the appropriate file, extracts the hourly LMP data, and then stores the data to the user-defined PI tags. There are currently thousands of LMP files available to you and the PJM LMP Interface for PI can handle each one.
